DIY Body scrub from 3 ingredients | VEGAN and CRUELTY-FREE

Hi Guys!

Today I’m going to share a DIY body scrub recipe with you which is made from 3 simple ingredients.

Since I went vegan I became more conscious about not just what I eat but also what cosmetics I use. It has to be vegan and cruelty free of course, but it was hard to find beauty products which are suitable for my skin so I started to experiment at home. I’ve only made this body scrub and a body lotion so far, but they are so much better for my skin than any other products. It is easy to make them, and not only they are cheaper, but also you know exactly what you put into them.

Ingredients:

  • 2 big tablespoons of coconut oil (solid)

  • 1 cup of demerara sugar (or any other brown sugar)

  • 20 drops of your favorite essential oil

+ a small container or jar (if you don't have a clip jar on hand, don't worry, you can reuse any old jars and save waste)

Shopping list:

Extra tip: you can use organic ingredients. It is only a tiny bit more expensive, but better for the skin.

I used tea tree oil. Tea tree oil has anti-inflammatory affects so it is perfect for acne, it calms the skin and speeds up the healing. You can use any kind of essential oils or even mix them to create the perfect scent which suits you.

Method:

First heat up the coconut oil until it is melted. Transfer the melted coconut oil into a bowl and add the sugar. Mix them well and add your favourite essential oil. I added 20 drops of tea tree oil because I love the strong scent of tea tree. Pour the mixture into a container or a jar and wait until it cools down.

Easy, init?

I use this scrub on my body and on my face too. What I like about it is that the sugar cleans my skin gently, the tea tree calms every irritation and the coconut oil is a super good moisturiser so I don’t even need to use a face cream after.

Let me know in the comment section below if you tried it!

Cheers,

Kincső
